Academy of Science Honorific Awards for Society Fellows and Prize Winners

Matthew England and Si Ming ManProfessor Matthew England FRSN FAA of the UNSW Sydney and Professor Si Ming Man of the Australian National University have been named as winners in the Academy of Science (AAS) Honorific Awards for 2023. 

Professor England, the winner of the RSNSW James Cook Medal in 2019, was awarded the  AAS Jaeger Medal — one of the Academy's career-level honorific awards — in the earth sciences for his work on how climate change is reshaping oceans.  

Professor Si Ming Man, the winner of the RSNSW Edgeworth David Medal in 2019, was awarded the AAS Gottschalk Medal — one of the Academy's early-career honorific awards — for his work on uncovering the role of inflammation in health and disease.
