King’s Birthday Honours 2025

The Society is delighted to learn of the awards to the following Society Fellows and Members who appear in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List.

The following Fellow has been honoured as a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).

Professor Roger Byard AC PSM FRSN FAHMS, Emeritus Professor in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Adelaide, for eminent service to medicine, to forensic pathology, to tertiary education as an academic and researcher, and to the community.

The following Fellows have been honoured as Officers of the Order of Australia (AO).

Professor Richard Kingsford AO FRSN, Director of the Centre for Ecosystem Science at UNSW Sydney, for distinguished service to conservation biology, to environmental sustainability research, and to freshwater biodiversity and ecosystems governance.

Professor Leonard Lindoy AO FRSN FAA FRACI FRSC, Emeritus Professor of Chemistry at the University of Sydney, for distinguished service to chemical sciences as a researcher, to tertiary education, and in leadership roles.

Professor Jason Middleton AO FRSN FRAeS, Emeritus Professor at UNSW Sydney, for distinguished service to environmental research and marine sciences, particularly coastal oceanography and aviation meteorology, and to tertiary education.
