The June 2026 issue of the Journal and Proceedings of the Royal Society of NSW is now available, published online on 22 July 2026 after a short delay. The printed version of the issue will be posted out to paying subscribers on its return from the printers.
A complete version of this issue is now available for downloading from this link.
The issue contains timely papers and discussions from last November’s Royal Society of NSW and the Five Academies Forum on the topic, AI: The Hope and the Hype.
It also has a paper by Professor Maria Skills-Kazacos and co-workers on a new kind of battery that she developed — the UNSW Vanadium Flow Battery — now being deployed at solar generation facilities in China. As well as three PhD thesis abstracts and five obituaries, it includes a paper on European scientists in colonial Australia by the late Dr Peter Tyler, a one-time Historian of the Royal Society.
